The importance of Stewardship
Dear friends in Christ,
As summer is finally arriving in Thunder Bay, and many are getting ready to go on vacation, I humbly ask you to continue your financial gifts. Your gifts support every aspect of ministry.
We currently need an additional $1,600 in monthly giving to meet our budget. I share this not to alarm and create anxiety, but to be transparent in our finances.
One of the Missional Objectives is to reframe how we think of tithing by asking ourselves: Are we giving for past losses or for the future of the church? The first part of this question invokes a mindset of anxiety or despair, while the second looks forward in hope.
We are all impacted by the rising cost of living. This cost of living also impacts our church, from bills, liturgical needs (bread/wine, music licenses, paper, etc), as well as the ability to have a full time Incumbent and other staff.
We thank everyone who continues to support our ministry. If you are able, I humbly invite you to consider increasing your financial gift, even if it is only a couple of dollars to support our ministry. You can do so by signing up for EOP, e-Transfers, or offering envelopes.
